Petition to the UK High Commission Kenya

On behalf of Kenyans of goodwill and the Gen Z movement, I respectfully petition the UK High Commission in Kenya to revoke the UK travel visa of Kevin Monari, known on X as @Osama_Otero, due to his dangerous and misleading statements inciting violence against Kenyan citizens.
On June 23, 2025, Monari posted a tweet under his handle @Osama_Otero, leveraging a ChatGPT-generated response to falsely assert that Kenyans can be “legally shot” for occupying State House during planned protest marches against bad governance scheduled for June 25, 2025.
This reckless rhetoric not only perpetuates a falsehood but also endangers lives by promoting lethal force against peaceful demonstrators.
Monari’s influence amplifies the severity of this matter. As an unofficial yet verified state operative, he hosted President William Ruto on an X-space last year, lending him significant credibility among his followers.
His platform, which boasts a large and engaged audience, could be amplifying Ruto’s intrusive thoughts or directives, potentially inciting state-sponsored violence.
This is particularly alarming given State House’s status as a symbol of governance, where protests are a legitimate expression of democratic dissent against corruption and mismanagement.
The UK, as a champion of human rights and democratic values, has a responsibility to denounce such incitement to violence.
Granting Monari access to the UK while he advocates for the mass killing of protesters undermines these principles. I urge the High Commission to:
- Revoke Kevin Monari’s UK visa with immediate effect.
- Impose a ban preventing him from entering the United Kingdom.
- Publicly condemn his statements to deter further incitement.
I believe this action will send a strong message that the UK will not tolerate individuals who use their influence to promote violence, especially against those exercising their right to protest.
Please act swiftly to protect Kenyan lives and uphold international standards of justice.
